Two years ago when I started planning my own wedding, I browsed for ideas on numerous wedding sites and blogs, and happened to chance upon 31 Bits.
Jewelry by 31 Bits is made completely out of recycled paper by women from Northern Uganda. What a great cause! I was inspired by this story, the founders of 31 Bits work with these women to create a variety of beautiful jewelry out of recycled paper and have given these women not only a source of income but empowered them to rise above poverty and fight back.
They have a wedding line that I considered for some of my own accessories! Check out these pictures from their latest wedding collection.
I ended up ordering a couple of necklaces from 31 Bits to wear for the days leading up to our wedding and for my everyday wear. Here I am wearing a piece from their 2012 wedding collection at a dinner with our out-of-town guests a few days before our wedding, this has become one of my staple jewelry pieces.
Now I'm eyeing a few items in their latest lookbook, I may just have to indulge! I love the colour pops that these pieces add to any outfit.
